Some fields, like PI, IP or real estate are considered more risky and have higher rates than criminal practice or other areas where there&#039;s less exposure.  Some insurers have higher rates for part timers, figuring that they can&#039;t keep up with the law while others have lower rates because with less work comes less exposure.
I don&#039;t know whether a firm&#039;s malpractice costs are equal to each attorney&#039;s costs on a pro rata basis.
