MyShingle Fashion: More Work Pumps – In Technicolor!
A few posts back, I shared a bunch of high heels to wear to work. However, they were a tad on the boring side: black, and…black. That’s pretty much all there was. This time, I’m opting for a much needed injection of diversity, and sharing with you a couple of work appropriate heels that aren’t black. Next time? Flats. I promise.
I stuck with heels under 3.5″ because, in my opinion, there’s no reason to go higher. Not at work. And yes, normally I stick to 3″, but there were some super cute heels at 3.5″ that I really liked and wanted to share because, oh, man, pretty.
Let’s get started! As always, click to purchase.
All lovely colors, none of them black. These are from Zappos, and are Calvin Klein Dolly pumps. The heel is a mere 2.75″, easy enough even for those who think they lack the balance and coordination for heels. That used to be me, but I clock in at a half inch over five feet, so I got over that qualm fast because heels were all but mandatory at my height. Or, lack of it.
Sometimes you just need canvas pumps with a stacked heel. These are from Urban Outfitters, and are 3.5″ in heel height. The stacked heels make these much easier to walk in, so, those of you that are self-conscious about your gait and balance in stiletto heels, consider these as an intermediate until you find your footing.
Haha! Footing.
I am so sorry. 😐
I’ll see myself out.
Red! Well, more like maroon. I personally love red shoes, but I usually stick to red flats, because bright, chalky red heels are ugly and pretty red heels are a little too sexy for the workplace. But then again, I’m kind of a prude about weird things. I mean, I’ll wear a bikini, but I haven’t eaten a banana in 6 years.
And that’s why maroon pumps are wonderful – maroon is red, but it somehow seems much more sedate because it’s darker. And, of course, patent. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bring in the patent.
These are from Piperlime, in stone and nude, with a 3″ heel. Nude shoes are great worn with a brightly colored solid dress, and grey shoes are incredibly versatile, too.
A little on the fancier side, with a 3.5″ heel, and these lovely cut out shapes. Cut out pumps are always interesting, and I’ve often used pumps in a similar poppy color. It’s actually a lovely color that works so well on so many different skin tones.
What a gorgeous color. Purple is soooo under-rated. Does anything look better with grey? (Don’t make me spell that word word with an ‘a.’) And it looks great with so many other colors, too. Purple is a lot like olive green – a very versatile color. And I’m still loving the cut-out shape and the patent leather.
And there we have some lovely work-appropriate shoes in the colors of the rainbow. Because black is boring. Sometimes. Sometimes it’s awesome, but we need some color in our lives, ladies!
