Calling All Woman Owned and Mom Owned Law: Let’s Show the Legal Profession That WE ARE HERE!

When it comes to talk of gender diversity in the legal profession, are you tired of the conversation revolving around whether biglaw has enough equity partners?

Are you a woman who owns a law firm – whether a one person operation or an empire of several dozen – and feel tired of being invisible as I wrote here?

It is time, once and for all to show the legal profession that we. are. here.

So, let me promote you, let me feature your story at MyShingle in honor of Women’s History Month. I’m gathering up as many profiles as I can find of women who own law firms for publication at my site.  The interviews take place by email and shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.  The links to the template are attached below – there’s one question set for women who own law firms, and a second set for moms who own firms (choose the one appropriate to your situation).  However, in order to run the profiles before the month is out, you will need to return them no later than Monday March 21 by 5 pm! We’ll be posting stories in the order received, so the sooner you send, the sooner we will post.

Although the focus of these posts and the questions is on your experience navigating law firm ownership as a woman and/or mom, diversity matters.  We want the faces portrayed in these profiles to represent all ages, races, orientations and preferences — so if you are a woman or mom lawyer of color and/or part of the LGBTQ community, we would love for you to participate.

Can’t wait to hear from you!!  The templates explain what to do but if you have any questions, please contact me directly at elefant@myshingle.com, subject matter Woman/Mom Owned Law Firm
